The Fast Forward project aims to promote independence and social inclusion to young disabled people aged between 11-25 and anyone over the age of 50, who are living in Derby City and Derbyshire.
Just a few of the things we include in our workshops are ICT courses, including internet safety & social media, as well as arts and crafts, knitting, quizzes and more. Fast Forward will also work with Disability Directs’ Plot to Plate allotment project, encouraging the two generations to be actively involved in planting & growing fruit and vegetables. The produce will then be used in our cookery classes where members can share their culinary skills, hints and tips, to make tasty and healthy meals.
The project will also be delivering the Fast4ward sessions which will cover four key topics. Work & Volunteering, Independent Living, Friendships & Relationships and Keeping Safe. Contact us to find out more.
Fast Forward also benefits from having a Steering Committee which will help to develop and manage the project through the various stages as it evolves. The committee comprises of 12 younger people & 6 older people and provides input for the project, helps to organise events and offer suggestions for future workshops. If you would like know more or become a member of the Steering Committee, why not get in touch.
